ON THIS PAGE
Mailforge costs $3 per mailbox a month, or $2.40 billed yearly, with a 10 slot minimum ($30 a month). A .com domain costs $14 a year. The mailboxes are private SMTP on a shared IP pool, not Google Workspace or Microsoft 365, and warmup is not included (Mailforge sells it separately as Warmforge).
Mailforge is one of the cheapest ways to get a lot of cold email mailboxes fast. $3 buys a mailbox slot. What it does not buy is a Google or Microsoft account, or any warmup.
This guide covers what the $3 includes, what it leaves out, the real monthly cost at 10, 30 and 100 mailboxes, and when paying more per mailbox saves money.
Mailforge pricing at a glance
The short version before we dig in. Here is what Mailforge pricing looks like on the published tiers:
Confirm the current numbers on the official Mailforge pricing page. Published prices change; the pricing model rarely does.
The Mailforge plans, decoded
Each tier targets a different buyer. Here is what actually changes as you move up:
Mailbox slots ($3 or $2.40)
Private SMTP mailboxes. Yearly billing takes 20% off. The minimum order is 10 slots.
Domains ($14 a year)
Bought through Mailforge, with full control of the domains, but no admin console like Google Workspace has.
Warmup (Warmforge)
Not in the mailbox price. New mailboxes need weeks of warmup before cold volume.
What it is not
Not a Google Workspace or Microsoft 365 seat. Receiving servers see a private SMTP sender.
What actually drives the Mailforge bill: mailbox slots plus the warmup you add
The meter is simple: mailbox slots times $3, plus $14 a year per domain. At 3 mailboxes per domain, 30 mailboxes need 10 domains, which is about $102 a month on monthly billing.
The cost the page does not show is time. A fresh mailbox needs weeks of warmup before it can carry a campaign, and warmup is a separate product. Budget both before comparing.
The real cost of Mailforge in practice
Sticker prices are the floor, not the ceiling. Here is the realistic annual math for common setups:
Assumes 3 mailboxes per domain and monthly billing; yearly billing takes 20% off the mailbox part. Warmup is not priced here because Mailforge sells it separately.
Hidden costs to budget for
Beyond the plan itself, these are the costs that surprise new Mailforge buyers:
- Warmup. Not included. Add a warmup tool and the weeks it takes before real sending.
- Not Google or Microsoft. Private SMTP on a shared IP pool. Some buyers need real Workspace or 365 seats for their ICP.
- No admin console. You control the domains, but there is no Google-style admin console for the mailboxes.
Is Mailforge worth the price?
If you send at high volume, run your own warmup and care most about cost per mailbox, Mailforge is hard to beat on price.
If you need to send this month, or you want real Google Workspace or Microsoft 365 accounts, the cheap slot is only the start. You still pay for warmup and wait for it.
The pre-warmed alternative: Getlead mailboxes
Mailforge sells mailboxes you still have to warm. Getlead sells mailboxes that are already warm: 4 to 6 weeks of warmup before handover, the domain and admin access transferred to you, and the warmup log handed over so you can audit every day of it.
At 30 mailboxes, Mailforge is about $102 a month with domains, before warmup, and needs weeks before real sending. Getlead's Scale pack is $269 a month for 30 mailboxes on 10 domains, sending on day one.
We plan around 30 sends a day per mailbox and 3 mailboxes per domain. See the packs on the pre-warmed mailboxes page, or compare ten providers in our pre-warmed provider comparison. The head to head is in Getlead vs Mailforge.
