Most outbound teams evaluate contact data platforms based on the advertised price per seat. They rarely calculate the cost of running out of mobile numbers or paying for CRM syncs. The true cost depends on how many verified contacts your reps actually export.
Understanding the Credit Limits
LeadIQ is a B2B contact database that captures lead data from LinkedIn and syncs it to your CRM because it charges users based on a monthly credit allowance system.
A sales representative views a LinkedIn profile and uses the Chrome extension to reveal the prospect email address. The platform then deducts one credit from their monthly allowance. LeadIQ splits its currency into standard credits and premium credits.
Standard credits reveal work email addresses, while premium credits reveal mobile phone numbers and personal email addresses. The Essential plan costs $39 per user per month when billed annually. It provides 500 standard credits and 30 premium credits each month.
If your team relies on cold calling, 30 mobile numbers will not last a single week. The Pro plan increases the limits to 1,000 standard credits and 70 premium credits per user. This tier starts at $79 per user per month.
- Standard credits unlock basic work email addresses for cold outreach campaigns.
- Premium credits unlock direct mobile phone numbers for sales development representatives.
- Credit allowances reset on the first day of your billing cycle.
When you purchase multiple seats, LeadIQ pools the credits across your entire team. A team of five on the Essential plan shares 2,500 standard credits each month. Suppose one SDR focuses on cold calling while another focuses on email.
The caller can consume the majority of the premium credits without hitting an individual cap. This pooling mechanism prevents wasted credits if one team member takes a vacation. It requires strict internal rules to prevent one aggressive user from draining the account.
The Salesforce Sync Tax
Many teams discover a pricing hurdle when they try to connect their new database to their existing sales stack. LeadIQ gates advanced CRM integrations behind higher pricing tiers. The Essential plan only includes basic integrations with tools like Hubspot or Outreach.
If your company uses Salesforce, you must upgrade to the Pro plan or Enterprise plan. Suppose a startup pays for three Essential seats to keep costs low. When the operations manager tries to map custom fields to Salesforce, the system prompts them to upgrade.
The team must now pay double their original budget just to move data efficiently. This structural choice forces smaller teams to choose between manual CSV uploads and expensive software upgrades. Manual exports waste time while forced upgrades drain the software budget.
Basic integrations only push a name and an email address to your CRM. Advanced integrations allow you to map custom fields like LinkedIn URLs or company funding rounds. The LeadIQ Pro plan unlocks the Salesforce integration and enables advanced routing rules.
You can automatically assign new leads to specific account executives based on territory or company size. If a lead matches your ideal customer profile in the healthcare sector, the routing rule immediately assigns that contact to your healthcare specialist in Salesforce.
This automation saves hours of manual data entry for your sales operations manager. It reduces the risk of duplicate records cluttering your database. Before upgrading, you must verify your Salesforce API limits to ensure your daily allocation supports the sync volume.
Comparing LeadIQ against Apollo for a Five-Person Team
To understand the market position, you must compare the platform against a direct competitor. A five-person team offers a clear baseline for this math. Five users on the LeadIQ Pro plan cost $395 per month.
This gives the team 5,000 standard credits and 350 premium credits in total. The team gets direct Salesforce integration and standard email verification. Five users on the Apollo Professional plan cost $495 per month.
This provides unlimited email credits and 500 mobile numbers. Apollo also includes a built-in sending sequence tool, which LeadIQ lacks. The unlimited standard credits from Apollo offer better value for a team running high volume email campaigns.
If the team primarily cold calls, they must evaluate which platform provides more accurate mobile numbers in their specific industry. Apollo includes a built-in sales engagement platform alongside its contact database.
You can build email sequences, track open rates, and schedule follow-up tasks within a single interface. LeadIQ focuses strictly on data acquisition and requires a separate tool for sending emails. You must pay for an additional platform to execute your campaigns.
This fragmented approach increases your total software expenditure. A five-person team paying $395 for LeadIQ must also budget at least $100 for a dedicated sending platform. Specialized tools often perform their core function better than all-in-one platforms.
Data Quality and Verification Costs
Contact data decays rapidly as people change jobs or companies update their server configurations. Buying a list is only the first step in the outbound process. You must verify those addresses before sending.
Sending messages to outdated addresses damages your sender reputation. A poor reputation causes mailbox providers to route your future messages to the spam folder. We see the impact of unverified lists across thousands of campaigns.
When teams skip verification, bounce rates spike and open rates plummet. Our data shows that 23.9% of scraped addresses are invalid right out of the gate. Another 16.7% are catch-all addresses that require special handling.
“We burned through our premium credits in ten days because our reps kept clicking reveal on profiles without checking the CRM first.”
Operations Manager at a 50-person SaaS
If a platform provides an email address, you still need a secondary verification tool to confirm it. Getlead offers a built-in bulk email verifier to solve this problem. You can clean your exported lists before they enter your sending software.
When a mailbox provider sees a high bounce rate from your domain, it assumes you are a spammer. Google and Microsoft monitor these metrics closely to protect their users from unwanted mail. A bounce rate above two percent will trigger spam filters.
Once your domain reputation falls, even your legitimate emails will land in the spam folder. You must implement a strict verification workflow for every CSV file you export from LeadIQ. Never upload an unverified list directly into your cold email software.
Annual Contracts and Negotiation Savings
Software vendors prefer annual contracts because they guarantee revenue and reduce customer churn. LeadIQ offers significant discounts for teams that commit to a full year of service. The monthly billing option for the Pro plan costs $89 per user.
The annual billing option drops this price to $79 per user per month. This represents a savings of $120 per user over the course of a year. Enterprise plans require an annual contract and a custom quote from the sales team.
The median annual cost for enterprise teams is $26,400. Buyers can often negotiate better terms when purchasing enterprise software. The average negotiation savings on a LeadIQ Enterprise contract is 21%.
Suppose a sales director needs 20 seats for a growing outbound team. They can leverage end-of-quarter quotas to secure a lower price per seat or request additional premium credits. Software contracts often include auto-renewal clauses that lock you into another year of service.
You must track your renewal dates and initiate cancellation requests at least thirty days in advance. If you hire a new sales representative halfway through your annual contract, you must purchase a prorated seat.
LeadIQ calculates the cost of this new seat based on the remaining months in your agreement. Suppose you add a sixth user to your Pro plan with six months left on the contract. You will pay $474 upfront for that specific user.
Managing Team Workflows and Export Rules
Sales leaders must establish clear rules for how their team interacts with the prospecting database. Without guidelines, representatives will waste credits on unqualified leads. You should define an ideal customer profile before granting your team access to the platform.
This profile must specify the exact job titles, company sizes, and industries your representatives should target. Require your team to verify a prospect against the CRM before clicking the reveal button on LinkedIn.
If the contact already exists in your database, revealing their email again wastes a credit. Suppose a representative finds a perfect prospect on LinkedIn. They must first search Salesforce for that company domain.
If an account executive already owns that account, the representative should move on to a different target. This simple verification step can save hundreds of credits each month. You can use those saved credits to target net-new accounts.
Getlead plans start at $19.90 a month and include tools to manage this verification process. You can connect your pre-warmed mailboxes to ensure maximum deliverability for your verified contacts. Pre-warmed mailboxes start from $39 a month for three mailboxes and a domain.
Worked Example: Calculating True Cost Per Lead
To understand the actual financial impact of these credit limits, you must calculate your true cost per lead. Suppose a five-person outbound team targets 2,000 new prospects every month. They purchase five Pro seats for $395 monthly, giving them 5,000 standard credits and 350 premium credits.
The team runs a multi-channel sequence requiring both email addresses and mobile numbers. They allocate 1,650 standard credits to find work emails and 350 premium credits to find direct dials. This allocation consumes their entire premium credit allowance in the first two weeks of the month.
Once the premium credits run out, the team must purchase an add-on package to continue their cold calling campaigns. LeadIQ charges $60 for a block of 100 additional premium credits. The team needs 300 more mobile numbers to hit their monthly quota, forcing them to buy three add-on blocks.
These three add-on blocks cost an extra $180 per month, bringing their total software expenditure to $575. You must also factor in the cost of email verification and the inevitable bounce rate. Our benchmark data shows that 23.9% of scraped addresses are invalid, meaning 394 of their 1,650 standard emails will bounce.
Calculating the Final Cost Per Lead
After removing the invalid addresses, the team is left with 1,256 usable work emails and 650 mobile numbers. They spent $575 to acquire 1,906 valid contact points, resulting in a true cost of $0.30 per verified lead. If they had relied solely on the base Pro plan, their cost per lead would appear lower, but their pipeline would shrink.
To optimize this workflow, you must implement a strict procedure for credit consumption. First, require representatives to exhaust standard credits on email-only sequences before requesting premium credits. Second, mandate that all exported lists pass through a bulk email verifier before entering your sending platform.
Third, track the conversion rate of premium mobile numbers against standard work emails to determine if the $60 add-on blocks generate a positive return on investment. If cold calls yield a 5% meeting booked rate while emails yield 1%, the premium credits justify their additional cost.
Procedure: Auditing Your Monthly Credit Usage
You must audit your team credit usage every thirty days to prevent budget overruns. Start by exporting the user activity report from the LeadIQ administrator dashboard on the final day of your billing cycle. This report details exactly how many standard and premium credits each representative consumed.
Sort the spreadsheet by premium credit consumption to identify outliers in your sales team. If one representative uses 80% of the pooled premium credits, you must review their prospecting workflow. They might be revealing mobile numbers for low-tier accounts that only require standard email outreach.
Next, cross-reference the exported contacts with your CRM to calculate the duplicate rate. A high duplicate rate indicates that your team is not searching Salesforce before clicking the reveal button on LinkedIn. You must retrain these representatives to check existing records before spending new credits.
Identifying Wasted Standard Credits
Calculate the percentage of unused standard credits remaining at the end of the month. If your team consistently leaves thousands of standard credits untouched, you are overpaying for your current tier. You should consider downgrading one or two seats to the Essential plan to reduce your monthly software bill.
Finally, measure the bounce rate of the emails exported during that billing cycle. If the bounce rate exceeds 5%, your representatives are likely bypassing your secondary verification tool. You must enforce a rule that all CSV exports go to the operations manager for cleaning before campaign enrollment.
This monthly audit takes approximately two hours to complete, but it can save your company thousands of dollars annually. By identifying wasted credits and enforcing verification rules, you maximize the return on your data investment. Always document these findings and share them during your monthly sales team meeting.
Corporate Background and Platform Scope
Buyers often ask about the corporate structure behind their software vendors. LeadIQ is a privately held company backed by venture capital firms. People frequently ask who owns LeadIQ.
The company was founded by Mei Siauw and is backed by investors like Eight Roads Ventures and Jason Calacanis. Another common question asks if LeadIQ is a CRM. It is not a customer relationship management system.
It is a data provider that sits on top of your actual CRM. Users also wonder if LeadIQ is trustworthy. The platform complies with standard data privacy regulations and processes publicly available professional information.
European privacy laws require a lawful basis for processing personal data. GDPR Article 6 outlines these requirements for companies operating within the European Union. When you export a contact from LeadIQ, you become the data controller for that information.
You must ensure you have a legitimate interest in contacting that prospect. The platform helps you source the data, but it does not shield you from legal liability if you violate spam regulations. You must include an opt-out link in every commercial email you send.
